Taste of China in Guangdong

Guangdong Province in China is located along the Pearl River Delta that goes into the South China Sea.

If you can't go all the way up north to Beijing, this province offers a replica of the Yuanming Yuan Palace.

The New Yuanming Palace is located in Zhuhai, a former fishing port that is now transformed into a tourist destination. There are many sights around.

Visitors swarm this palace if only to sit and enjoy the view.

Boat rides are available for rent.

The New Yuanming Palace gives visitors an idea about life in China in the early days. Costumes are available for rent and picture taking.

The Zhuhai Grand Theatre is shaped like a scallop and it is a major landmark in the city. It houses various performances like operas, ballets, and musicals.

Zhuhai's Fisher Girl statue has a love story attached to it.

The Pearl River Cruise offers a stunning view of the Canton Tower at night. Guests are welcomed with tea and cookies.

Countless shopping opportunities in China. You may want to buy CNY currency (or RMB) at the airport because it may be difficult to find money exchange counters.

Pork floss chiffon bun is delicious. Many choices at reasonable prices.

Cantonese cuisine uses a lot of fresh ingredients, often with light flavor. Similar to Hongkong, this cuisine is also found in Guangdong.

Is this fresh enough?

Cooked shrimps are delish too.

However, some people prefer the live one. Jumping shrimps are superb!

Guangdong, China is only around two hours plane ride from the Philippines. There are tour packages that offer China and Macau combination.

Just remember that once you enter China, Facebook and Messenger apps are not widely available. This just might be an opportunity to discover something new in the world.
